After several extensive sunbathing sessions during the first couple of days of our vacation, my Mum, my sister and I decided to skip going to the beach on a beautiful and very, very, very hot Saturday morning and go to the nearby city of Ancona (capital of the Marche region) instead. We strolled around the gorgeous old piazzas and quaint, narrow alleyways (always in the shade of course, to avoid a heat stroke), went shopping for fruit and cheese at the local food market and had lunch in the form of stuffed piadine with grilled zucchini, eggplant and mozzarella and drank iced mint milk at our favourite bar. Good times!
